"One of the things I love about working for Romp n Roll China is seeing the children master a new skill over the course of several weeks. I have only been at my location for a few weeks, but I am already starting to notice the children’s progress. There was one boy in my first class who did not want to touch the trapeze. The next time he came to class I invited him over to the trapeze again and this time he came over and put his hands on the bar, but still would not lift his feet up and swing. The third class I looked over and he was holding onto the trapeze with his legs in the air swinging back and forth with the biggest smile on his face. Seeing the transformation of the children over the course of a class or several weeks is so rewarding. At the beginning of class I often have many children who are crying and hiding behind their parents. Some are scared of my blue eyes, light skin, and curly hair, while others are scared simply because I am a stranger. Slowly over the course of the class they begin to warm up to me. Last week I had one girl who at the beginning screamed if she was even in the same room with me. Then at the end of class she crawled over and climbed into my lap for the closing song. It reminded me why I love my job."In the meantime, enjoy some of the pictures they have sent us of their adventures in China!
