What is Romp n' Roll?
Romp n' Roll is a play-based educational enrichment facility for parents and their children ages 3 months to 6 years. We have been changing the lives of children in the United States since 2004 and opened our first location in China in June 2010.
Are the lesson plans provided and will I be trained for this position?
Yes, lesson plans for all classes are provided and our curriculum has been developed based on the developmental stages of children and includes age-appopriate activities. As an instructor, you will be trained on child development, lesson plan implementation, communication with children and adults, and knowledge of all Romp n' Roll programs. Training will occur at our headquarters in Richmond, VA as well as in Beijing at the Chinese headquarters.
Travel costs and accommodations during your training in Richmond will be paid for by the company. Some accommodation costs may have to be paid up front, but you will be reimbursed upon arrival in Richmond for training. The training in Richmond will last three days and will include class observation and involvement as well as some classroom training.
How long will I be in China?
By accepting the position as a Romp n' Roll instructor, you are making a one-year commitment. Vacations and trips back to the United States should be discussed with the owners of your location and will be at your expense.
Will the company pay for my flight to China?
Yes. The cost of the flight to China and the flight back to the United States after the one-year commitment has been satisfied is covered by the company.
Will the company pay for my living accommodations?
Yes. The company will pay for living accommodations in a westernized, furnished apartment.
Will I have a roommate?
Each instructor will have the option to live alone or with another American instructor.
Will the company offer health insurance?
Yes.
Do I need to know how to speak Chinese?
No. At work, you will be able to communicate with the owners and there will, of course, be Chinese translators that will be working with you in your classes and will assist you with your work day.
Do I have to get any immunizations to travel to China?
No. There is no imminent threat of any contagious diseases in China that would require immunizations.
